Module · PM

Keep the plant running,
not just recorded.

Plant Maintenance (PM) is where every machine, line and asset on the floor becomes a record you can plan against — its history, its spares, its next service due. It turns breakdowns and routine upkeep into scheduled work orders that draw parts straight from stores, so maintenance stops being a notebook on the shop floor and starts being part of the same continuous flow as procurement and finance.

What it is

Every asset, one reliable
home.

Plant Maintenance gives every asset a single home. The asset master holds the equipment hierarchy — plant, line, machine, sub-component — along with its make, install date, warranty, and the full thread of what has been done to it and when.

Both planned upkeep and unplanned breakdowns are raised, scheduled and closed against that record, so the team always works from one reliable picture of the asset rather than scattered logs and memory.

Core objects PM holds
  • Asset master — equipment hierarchy, technical specs, warranty and service history.
  • Maintenance plans — preventive schedules by calendar or running hours.
  • Work orders — the unit of execution for a breakdown or a planned task.
  • Spares linkage — parts consumed pulled from MM stock, valued and reconciled.
  • Reliability log — downtime, failure cause and recurrence per asset.
What it does

From asset master to spares,
one continuous record.

Six capabilities that turn maintenance from a notebook on the floor into part of the same flow as procurement and finance.

Asset master

Build the full equipment hierarchy once and reference it everywhere — every work order, spare issue and cost rolls up to the asset it belongs to, so a machine's true running cost is never a guess.

Preventive maintenance

Define schedules on calendar dates or running hours, and PM raises the work order before the service is due. Routine upkeep gets done on time instead of after the failure.

Breakdown maintenance

Log a breakdown the moment it happens, raise an immediate work order, and capture the failure cause against the asset — so the same fault is visible the next time it recurs.

Work orders

Plan labour, list the spares, schedule the slot and close with actuals. Each order carries its own status and cost, and nothing is "done" until it is recorded as done.

Spares from stores

Parts a work order needs are issued from MM inventory in the correct UOM, so consumption draws down real stock, triggers a PR when a critical spare runs low, and every issue is valued — no parallel spares ledger.

Reliability

Downtime, mean time between failures and repeat-fault patterns accumulate per asset, giving maintenance and plant heads the evidence to retire, overhaul or re-plan.

Which processes it powers

PM is a participant in the flows
your plant and finance teams live in.

PM is rarely worked on its own. From this module, click through to the processes it drives.

Modules PM collaborates with in those flows
  • MM Material Mgmt — spares, stock and the PR for replenishment.
  • FA Fixed Assets — capitalisation, depreciation and disposal.
  • FI Finance — maintenance cost booked to the asset.
  • QM Quality — inspection on overhauls and refurbished spares.
